Further, I have advised international companies on doing business in the U.S. My clients have entered markets throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, often with great success. Conversely, I have also watched a lamentable number of companies “GoInternationally” for the wrong reasons, without much forethought or preparation; the results were not good. One of the key reasons for a company’s poor results in the international business arena is a lack of a sound strategy, and a misunderstanding of the specific task required for success overseas. To “GoInternationally,” is not a matter of choice anymore; it is necessary for business survival in light of the following:
